CNI Gandaki Province Installs New Leadership, Reaffirms Commitment to Industrial Growth
Pokhara – The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) Gandaki Province officially installed its newly elected Executive Committee during a special Installation Ceremony and Interaction Program, bringing together industry leaders, government representatives, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to discuss the future of industrial development, investment promotion, and economic growth in the province.
Addressing the program as the chief guest, CNI President Birendra Raj Pandey congratulated the newly elected leadership and expressed confidence in their ability to strengthen the province's industrial ecosystem. He also appreciated the contributions of the outgoing Executive Committee and highlighted the importance of collective efforts to create an enabling environment for industrial growth and private sector development.
President Pandey reaffirmed CNI's commitment to promoting productive industries, attracting investment, generating employment, and strengthening Nepal's economy through constructive policy advocacy and close collaboration with the government. He noted that many of CNI's long-standing recommendations on policy and legal reforms have gradually been incorporated into government policies, contributing to a more business-friendly environment.
He welcomed the government's decision to allow export-oriented Nepali industries to invest abroad, describing it as a significant policy reform that will help domestic industries expand into international markets. Stressing the importance of strengthening domestic production and consumption, he also highlighted CNI's ongoing "Make in Nepal – Swadeshi Campaign," implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies, to promote the use of domestically produced goods.
President Pandey further emphasized the need for a rational customs structure, stronger action against illegal trade, and continued policy reforms to improve the competitiveness of Nepali industries. Reaffirming CNI's support for industries across the country, he assured members that the Confederation would continue advocating for practical solutions to the challenges faced by the private sector.
CNI Vice President Bhim Ghimire highlighted the growing importance of provincial chapters in driving industrial and economic development. He emphasized that stronger coordination between the private sector, provincial governments, and local authorities is essential to improve the investment climate, encourage entrepreneurship, and accelerate sustainable industrial growth. He encouraged the newly elected leadership to actively engage with stakeholders and continue advancing CNI's vision at the provincial level.
Speaking after assuming office, Dharma Raj Bartaula, the newly elected President of CNI Gandaki Province, expressed his gratitude to the members for entrusting him with the responsibility of leading the provincial chapter. He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with industries, businesses, government agencies, and development partners to strengthen the industrial ecosystem of Gandaki Province.
President Bartaula stated that his leadership would prioritize creating a more investment-friendly environment, promoting industrialization based on the province's comparative advantages, supporting entrepreneurship, and addressing the challenges faced by industries through continuous policy dialogue and collaboration. He emphasized that CNI Gandaki Province would work proactively to enhance coordination among stakeholders and contribute to increasing production, attracting investment, creating employment opportunities, and fostering sustainable economic development in the province.
The ceremony concluded with a shared commitment from CNI leaders, members, government representatives, and stakeholders to work together in promoting industrial development, strengthening private sector competitiveness, and building a more resilient and investment-friendly economy in Gandaki Province.
