CNI Meets MoICS Minister

CNI President Mr. Birendra Raj Pandey met with Hon’ble Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ms. Gauri Kumari today at the Ministry. During the meeting, CNI briefed the Minister on key initiatives including the “Make in Nepal - Swadeshi Abhiyan,” Budget Watch, Nepal Infrastructure Summit, Women Leadership Summit, Startup Fest, and the $100 Billion Economy Study and other activities that have been initiated by CNI.
CNI President Pandey also highlighted several policy recommendations and concerns such as maintaining at least a two-tier customs duty difference between raw materials and finished products in the upcoming budget, formulation of sectoral industrial strategies, control of illegal imports, provisions for foreign investment, duty drawback issues, BIS-related concerns, promotion of a domestic products procurement portal, production-based incentives, implementation of OSSC, and effective execution of facilities provided under the Specialized Act.
During the meeting, CNI Office Bearers Mr. Gokul Bhandari, Ms. Vidushi Rana, Ms. Prashi Agrawal, Director General Dr. Ghanashyam Ojha, and other officials were also present.
